Īnother good one that shows game 1 (red) and game 2 (green) obviously to make it a more reasonable campaign the scale is a bit off Įxcept it's not "just daemons" it's also the mortal followers devoted to each of the gods. Someone a map showing where they expected the races to be, not far off, warhammer 2 is a little more scattered than I think people were expecting. There is also completing Chaos with Daemons and unique units for the 4 chaos gods.Īll the far east factions are officially not armies, they are just on maps and random mentions throughout other lore. The only remaining factions not in game are Tomb Kings (undead Egypt) Chaos Dwarfs (Mesopotamian Evil Dwarfs) and Ogers.well they don't really relate to anything but they live in the warhammer equivalent to the Himalaya mountains. Here is a map of the world, as you can see after TWH2 we will have "the Americas" Naggaroth and Lustria, "Africa" Southlands, Ulthuan (elf land) and "Europe" the old world. well I guess games workshop didn't give them permission to be creative or something. So we conclude that some of the not-expanded far eastern (aka China, India, Jappan, And SE asia) factions will be in game 3 simply to fill out the franchise in a marketable way. Many people, myself included, don't see how CA cant expand the lore far beyond standard without putting out a third game substantially smaller and less varied than game 1 and 2.
Which is why there is a current debate about what game three will cover. WH1 and WH2 account for basically 2/3 of the war hammer world and about 85% of the world that GW has any real lore and fleshed out information on. And, based on past Creative Assembly games, we know there are people on the dev team familiar with and interested in the real-world inspirations for those armies (India in Empire and Japan in Shogun, leaving China the odd one out.still hoping for a Chinese historical Total War). I'm not super familiar with the lore, but I doubt the armies of those 3 human factions would involve all that much extra work in terms of models and animation. Giving us Cathay, Ind, and Nippon would also help pad out the "good" human races for the otherwise evil-heavy roster Warhammer 3 seems to be shaping up with. Obviously that leaves Warhammer 1 with a relatively tiny map, but it would make sense for them to make the final game in the trilogy the biggest, especially considering that it will feature the least amount of popular new factions. Hmm, looking at that map you linked and how big Warhammer 2's map is compared to the entirety of the world, I don't see why Warhammer 3's map couldn't be big enough to include Cathay, Ind, and Nippon.
